Runway is built local-first. The short version: there’s no sign-up, we run no servers of your financial data, and we can’t move your money. This page explains what that means in practice.
No account, fully anonymous
Runway requires no registration — no email, no login, no profile. You just open the app and start. We do not create an account for you or identify you.
Your financial data never touches our servers
The income and balances you record are stored only on your device and, if you enable sync, in your own private Apple iCloud. We keep no servers of your financial data — it stays inside Apple’s ecosystem, and we can’t see it. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.
Read-only by design
Runway never has permission to move, transfer, or spend your money. Any future bank connections are strictly read-only and opt-in.
Payments
Runway is free to use. Any in-app purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s own privacy policy — we never see or store your card details.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used. These do not identify you personally and are used only to improve the product.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Because Runway is local-first, most of your data is under your direct control and can be removed by you at any time.
